Résumé : Drawing on survey data from 22,000 UK academics, we explore the extent to which various pro-(and anti-) social attitudes associate with our various forms of academic entrepreneurship. We are also concerned to uncover the variety of these patterns across the academy. Much of the focus is on the physical sciences and on embodied technologies. The nature, extent and cognitive foundations of academic entrepreneurship in the social sciences and the arts have largely been neglected.
