Salary: £36,862-£46,696 pa

Applications are invited for the post of University Lecturer in the History of Modern Science and Technology. The successful applicant will be the first to hold the Peter Lipton Lectureship in History and Philosophy of Science. Responsibilities include contributing to all aspects of undergraduate teaching and supervising graduate students, as well as leading research in this area and administrative responsibilities in the Department. Candidates must have obtained a PhD (or equivalent) and have an outstanding record of excellence in teaching, research and publication in the subject. The Department is keen to appoint the best candidate. The lectureship is available from 1 September 2011but a candidate who could only take up the post significantly later than autumn 2011 would not be disadvantaged.
